he POC Performance Driving Series (formerly known as Short Track Series) offers club members the opportunity to learn the performance limits of their car in a safe, legal, controlled environment. One and two day events are conducted at the Streets of Willow, a lower-speed but technical track with generous runoff areas. Continuous timed lapping using our AMB Timing System allows drivers to monitor their progress while exploring their understanding of smooth driving lines and car control abilities. A relaxed atmosphere, with experienced instruction available and lots of track time have made these events a sellout every event this year.
As this is our introductory series, we have links to a complete guideline on what to expect at the PDS on our website: More PDS references. For those who wish to compete in timed laps against others in the same class, this also serves as a Championship series with year-end awards for class winners. After you have completed four full days at the PDS, including one PDS Clinic, described below, and have received four instructor sign-offs (as well as the approval of the Chief Driving Instructor), you are eligible for a PDS license. A PDS license allows you to compete in all Short Track events.
POC sponsored one day Driving Clinics are held twice a year, providing you with classroom instruction, skidpad experience, a track walk with knowledgeable and experienced instructors as well as in-car instruction and practice time in a noncompetitive environment.
